Lesson to make your thumb independence in fingerstyle playing

Filed Under (Guitar tips sharing) by admin on 26-03-2009

Hi all,

In this video, Tommy Emmanuel showing you “step-by-step” how to make your thumb independence when playing any tune. (The base will sound like “boom chick”) This is the most fundamental thing we got to master, for those fingerstyle playing with running bassline/ alternate bassline. Normally we play with thumb pick, where could create deep and louder bass sound.

Few thing you need to watch out when playing the bassline. We got to mute a little bit sound on the bass string by placing our right hand palm near to the saddle area.

The song use in the practice is called “Freight train”. Click here to download the tab.

Enjoy practice!
